Who you'll be working with.

My name is Sui Qu, the CPA behind Anchor & Wave. In recent years, I've managed the accounting for 50 residential and commercial properties, five healthcare software companies, and an international network of seven marketing agencies. I saw how larger organizations turn their numbers into real decisions, and how rarely a small business gets that same advantage. Anchor & Wave exists to close that gap.

Military life brought my partner and me to Halifax, and it shaped how I run the firm. Postings, moves, family logistics, and changing provinces can make everyday accounting harder than it has to be. Anchor & Wave is designed to keep your financial foundation accessible and portable as you move through life and business changes.

Here in our community, I'm building something of my own. I handle the bookkeeping, tax, and advisory myself, so you work alongside the same CPA every step of the way.

Five steps to get started.

01

Connect with Sui

Select a time on my calendar for us to talk. The booking form includes a short questionnaire about your business, your current setup, and what you might need help with. Those basics give me enough context to understand where things stand before we meet.

02

The Discovery Call

On our 30-minute meeting, we'll talk through your business, the work involved, and whether Anchor & Wave is the right fit. I'll also clarify the key details that shape the scope and monthly fee so we are on the same page before I prepare a proposal.

03

Proposal and Engagement Letter

If it looks like a good fit, I'll prepare a proposal with the recommended service path, scope, assumptions, and your fixed monthly fee. Once you're comfortable with the details, I'll send the engagement letter for your review and signature.

04

Onboarding and Monthly Workflow

After the engagement letter is signed, I'll begin the onboarding process. I'll set up secure access, connect your accounting apps and bank feeds, review your opening balances, and handle any necessary cleanup before our monthly routine begins.

05

First 90-Day Review

After the first three months, I'll review the actual volume, complexity, workflow, and records condition. I'll confirm whether the monthly fee still matches the work involved, and any agreed change is always documented in writing.

Good questions, straight answers.

For ongoing work, each engagement is quoted as one fixed monthly fee after I review your questionnaire, talk through the details with you, and confirm the scope of work. The fee depends on things like transaction volume, entity structure, filing needs, software, record condition, and overall complexity.

Setup, software migration, and cleanup work are handled through a one-time onboarding or catch-up fee.

After the first 90 days, I review the work involved and adjust the fee up or down if the scope is different from the initial estimate. After that, the fee is set for the engagement term and reviewed annually or when your needs materially change, with notice before any change affects your bill.

Your proposal sets out the services included in your plan, any one-time onboarding or catch-up work, and any add-ons that apply. Every tier includes current bookkeeping and HST/GST filing for quarterly or annual filers. The annual tax return is included with Growth and Strategic, and available as an add-on to Core.

Your fixed monthly fee covers the scope agreed to in your engagement letter. If a new matter falls outside that scope, I'll explain what is involved and quote it for your approval before the additional work begins. Nothing is added to your bill without your say-so.

Routine CRA correspondence means routine letters related to the filings included in your engagement. CRA reviews, audits, collections, disputes, objections, overdue remittances, and historical issues fall outside standard monthly scope and may be handled under a separate engagement or referred out.

Everything moves through secure online systems. Anchor & Wave is fully remote, cloud-based, and paperless. Bank feeds, receipts, documents, messages, and reports all run through the portal, so there are no office visits, paper drop-offs, or boxes of receipts. It also means your accounting keeps moving if you travel, relocate, or run the business from more than one place.

Anchor & Wave supports military-connected business owners and spouses through a fully remote workflow that continues through postings, deployments, relocations, and unpredictable schedules. If your routine changes, your accounting moves with you.

You should not have to start over with a new accountant every time life shifts. I work with you year after year, so the financial side stays organized wherever you are located.

Let us stride forward, together.
